- The position is in person, however with high flexibility for work from home when physical presence is not required.
- The projects are conducted in collaboration with other epilepsy centers which provide additional experience and collaboration opportunities.

The RA will aid the current researchers in planning, executing, and analyzing their specific project. The RA will conduct experiments under the direct supervision of the principal investigators, Taha Gholipour, MD. Although not involved in direct clinical care, the RA will work closely with clinical teams in an academic environment.
The candidate should have excellent organization, communication, and problem solving skills, and be fluent in programming in Matlab or Python, and able to navigate new programming environments. A background in data science, machine learning or related fields, and also experience in using Linux OS, and image analysis software (FreeSurfer, FSL) will make the applicant very competitive.
Appropriate training or refresher courses will be provided at the beginning of the position.

- We have projects involving the application of sophisticated neuroimaging methods to answer clinical questions such as identification of epileptic networks and focus through structural and functional MRI, as well as positron emission tomography (PET). This position provides the opportunity to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, cognitive neuroscientists, graduate students, and research assistants at the George Washington University as well as the Children’s National Medical Center.
